Why Social Media Matters: Helping Haiti
As you are likely very aware, a couple days ago Haiti was hit by a
7.1 earthquake. Fatalities and injuries are tremendous with over
100,000 – and possibly as high as 500,000 – passing on and roughly
3,000,000 affected by this incident according to the Red Cross and
news sources.
I am writing this message to you not to sensationalize the event,
but I am writing because when an event like this strikes humanity, I
believe we are all affected (positively or negatively).
When major tragedy hits humanity we are faced with many choices of
how to act, think, feel and converse on the topic. We have an
opportunity to use social platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook and
Twitter in many ways. As the news has indicated, twitter and
Facebook are a major venue for communication between families
trying to find one another.
In my experience it seems that media and society as a whole wants
to push us to dwell in fear and worry over the major event. Media
is very focused on the WOW affect and wants us to sensationalize
events such as this which in turn distracts us from the real human
needs and in a sense, paralyzes us to take no action because the
tragedy seems so big… thus, how could one person really make a
difference and help?
We send our hearts out and love to all the families dealing with
this situation and if I may ask you to take action, even in the
smallest regard, please consider taking any of the following steps
to help uplift this situation first in the minds and hearts, then
with the immediate human needs. Some steps you can take to help are:
1) Pray, meditate, send your Love out to the Families in need (imagine
100,000,000+ people doing this!)

Now in complete respect for those who have lost their lives in the
Haitian Earthquake, I would suggest that fear and worry would only

what this brings to the world as an opportunity to grow
spiritually, to unite in brotherhood and sisterhood, to pull
together to help people who through no fault of their own are faced
with great challenges.

Watch Your Intake-You are What You Eat!
I just want to wish everyone a Happy New Year and offer something to think about when 2010 is here. One important key to starting this New Year off productive is to watch your intake. You want to surround yourself with positive flow, and that means being around people of like minds that have an optimistic outlook on life. Beware of energy draining people who are negative and pollute your atmosphere with chaos, because that can bring chaotic energy into your life and business.
A positive flow are things that bring a good flow into your life and your business. Things that are uplifting and help propel your business to the next level and beyond. Personal development CD’s and books, sermons and seminars, business training programs, webinars and e-books that can help you fine tune your business are a must. Keep in mind your intake does include what you watch on TV, what music you listen to, and your internet activity, it’s everything you absorb in your system. Spending part of the day internet marketing and then checking out the Adult sites online is harmful for business.
To become a Leader and a top earner in your business you need to feed your sub-conscious mind the meat & potatoes of your field or craft, and when your off the clock you have to maintain that diet with the steady positive flow we just discussed. You have to eat, drink and sleep this positive flow. Take notice that this will attract the very things you need for your business to take off, your intake will come out of your pores, add positive flow with persistence and your obstacles become those tree branches you push out of your way when your going through the woods.
Start to take notice what you allow to have influence in your life, sometimes we are unaware that everyday things have influence on us. We are what we eat indeed, in the sense that what you feed your mind becomes the food for your business, the mind absorbs and becomes a part of the daily experiences upon which it feeds. So skip the junk food and eat the whole foods and thrive off of the success of a healthy business.

Time management can play a key factor in the success of your mlm or network marketing business. If your time isn’t managed properly then your production can suffer and your self-esteem right along with it. Let’s face it, time does get away from us every now and then whether your a newbie or a leader in this industry. There are a few things you can do to become the Master of your time.
The first thing you want to consider is your focus. The difference between a leader like Mike Dillard and the average person in network marketing or attraction marketing, is that leaders like Mike Dillard focus on results, while the average performers focus on activities or the things necessary to create the results. The more you focus on the results the better your time is managed, and that dramatically increases your production.
I personally can relate to this, when I started my business, my wife would ride me every night because I didn’t have time for her and the kids. I was up early and going to bed very late because I didn’t feel like I was getting enough done. Now I realize I can get more done in less time and I feel fine when I end the night at 5pm, except for the 2 evening webinars a week that we both agree are OK. What you have to realize is your business will suffer if your family life is put on pause, so the importance of effective time management adds value to your life and your business.
Have you ever heard “your thoughts create your reality”. The most powerful thing you can do to add a couple of extra hours to the end of your day, is the use of affirmations to help discipline and train your time management thought process. By affirming to yourself how great you are with your time, with emotion and intense belief, those thoughts take a physical effect. You want to identify an area in your business where your time is being held up, although you may have more than one, focus on one activity at a time and go after it. Your affirmations practiced daily will result in a dramatic change in other areas as well.
Depending on how bad you want to be the Master of your Time, another thing you will want to consider is speed-reading. There are plenty of good speed-reading courses online. A heavy research site to use is speedread.org, but since we can google anything you may want to find the best fit for you. The emphasis on speed reading is because you want to stay up on your skills and education. Reading will always be important when becoming the Top Earner in your company, and even more so if you plan to stay there. Dedicate some time each day on personal development and core training, because this will add value to your true #1 primary product. Yourself!
